MUMBAI: One of the famous DJ’s in the Indian bass music scene Kunaal Gurbaxani aka Gurbax is all pepped up for his performance act at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender Pune.
“No doubt! Weekender always draws in best audiences from across the country, so it’s a pleasure being able to perform for them, amongst such a consistently great line up,” said Gurbax.
In terms of new releases, DJ Gurbax has a lot which, he would put forth at the festival this year, he adds, “I have a lot of released and unreleased music/edits to debut at the festival this year and I am excited to witness Fkj, Nightmares on Wax and Joe Satriani at the Weekender.”
On being asked if he is performed at NH7 earlier and if yes, then how is upcoming performance is going to be different from his previous one?
“I played in Shillong last year, which was absolutely beautiful. I had quite an early slot though, so I went with a way mellower, chilled out approach. The beauty and serenity of playing in the outskirts of a small town in our own mini-hill station definitely impacted the kind of vibe, I went for as well. I feel this year is going to be a lot harder, grimier and intense. Better to keep some things a surprise,” answered Gurbax, revealing about his earlier performance at the festival and how his upcoming performance would be different.
Well, he has a lot of upcoming plans and projects, “I’m currently working on a mini-EP, which sees me exploring a pretty different territory than I’m used to - tracks with more song writing involved as opposed to solely producing beats, sampling, etc.”
