My FM sweeps Brand Leadership Award third year in a row

MUMBAI: Radio business of D.B Corp Ltd 94.3 My FM celebrated its hat trick at the World Brand Congress Global Awards by winning the Brand Leadership Award in the radio category for the year 2011. The global awards received more than 450 entries from over 300 companies in 40 categories. The winners were selected by jury comprising of senior professionals from different fields of marketing, branding, advertising, public relations, brand strategy and corporate communications.

Radio preferred medium for advertisers in South: Ficci-Deloitte report

BANGALORE: Radio is the most preferred medium for advertisers in South India, according to the Ficci-Deloitte report 2011. The report states that advertisers in South have greater acceptance of radio as a preferred medium when compared to the rest of the country. The all India gross revenues for the radio industry is estimated at about INR 10-11 billion, of which, about INR 8 billion is generated by the private FM radio industry, and close to 40 percent of this private FM industry's revenue estimated at INR 3.2 billion is gained from the south.

ASCAP and Radio Music License Committee announces settlement

MUMBAI: The Radio Music License Committee (RMLC) and The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) have announced a 'settlement in principle' concerning the fees payable by America's radio stations, to publicly perform ASCAP's 8.5 million plus musical works through 2016.

AIR generates 1.64 bn for first half of FY '12

NEW DELHI: All India Radio generated 1.64 billion from the total revenues of Rs 6.26 billion earned by  Prasar Bharati until September 2011 during the current fiscal year. Rs 4.89 billion came from commercial revenues of Doordarshan and Prasar Bharati sources said that a total of Rs 164.6 million came from other resources. These sources told radioandmusic.com that this showed a steady rise in the revenues over the past four years.
