MUMBAI: The second edition of NESCO’s initiative Paddy Fields Festival is not far away. The festival that celebrates folk and fusion also connects the audience to their cultural roots. Here are ten things you should know before heading for Paddy Fields festival which is happening on 7-8 October at NESCO.

  • First, the festival is true to its genre. The show is all about folk and fusion.
     
  • This is the second edition and it brings women to centre stage.
     
  • It is a platform to hear the musicians never heard before.
     
  • This season will celebrate women and their contribution to music.
     
  • There is an amazing lineup which includes: Susheela Raman, Sunita Bhuyan, Nooran Sisters, Sonam Kalra, The Sufi Gospel Project, Subha Mudgal, Kalpana Potawary, Tipriti Kharbargar and Sona Mohapatra.
     
  • The festival has facilities for the audience like two massive parking lot inside NESCO campus, food and beverages stalls at the venue for 4-5 hours show and screens in the food area so that people don’t miss the show.
     
  • There’s a 20 weeks program being aired on BIG FM focusing on Paddy Fields. Every Sunday 6-7 pm, listen to folk artists with RJ Siddharth.
     
  • The festival will be inside a secured campus.
