Vitamin Stree to release its first music video tomorrow

MUMBAI: Mumbai based Supari Studios launched a women-centric YouTube channel called Vitamin Stree this year on International Women’s Day. The channel will be releasing its first music video Pyjama Party featuring The Stage 2 semi-finalist Raghav Meattle and music producer Nikhil Malik. Both the singers have come together again for Pyjama Party which will launch tomorrow. Raghav will be seen singing She Can which he has dedicated to his sister. The duo had earlier collaborated for Boring I love You featuring differently-abled youngsters from the deaf community.

Vitamin Stree’s first video was called What Were You Wearing. The video speaks about the male gaze, and the hypocrisy in Indian society where women are questioned about what they wear. The spoken word poem has been written by Gaya Lobo. Some of the other content pieces Vitamin Stree has put out have touched on topics around online dating and the rights of women in India.

A Supari Studios spokesperson revealed, “We feel that there is not much content that caters specifically to women in India. We wanted to create content that focuses on cultural, political, artistic and ideological perspectives that are shaping the lives of women in contemporary India.”

The marketing of Vitamin Stree's content is organic and is dependent purely on social platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and word of mouth.
