When Sonu Nigam talks about 'futility of competitiveness'

MUMBAI:  Sonu Nigam, the multi-talented musician who pulls out all the stops to better himself each day, shared his views on the triviality of competitiveness on his personal Facebook page today, 20 September 2016.

Also, Sonu Nigam, the energetic and unusual singer of Bollywood is returning as a judge on 'Indian Idol' along with the co-judges Farah Khan and Anu Malik. The music talent show 'Indian Idol' was launched a decade back and the trio was the unique celeb judges of the show.

Read here, what he shared:

“As I grow older every day, I'm realizing more and more the futility of competitiveness. I wasted a lot of my time, like most humans do, in trying to outdo others. But from the last couple of years, I've discovered my true essence. Had I tried to outdo Atif in these concerts, the outcome of the show wouldn't have been this blissful. I got Atif in this concert for the sole purpose of showing how 2 artistes, especially from 2 conflicting countries, should put up a great show. Rather than doing our own bit and going our separate ways, we designed the show so people get more than they could expect.

The result is for everyone to see. I pray that I never ever get swayed away from this path for the rest of my life. And I also seek forgiveness from anyone who felt threatened due to my aggression to give my best in my earlier days, as it was just the ignorant me. God's given me too much, for me to behave erratically ever again...

BPS: And don't worry, I'm still the badmaash Sonu Nigam that you have known, haven't lost my sense of humour, and the occasional sense of tumour... This is just a realization, I wanted to share with you all....” (sic)

To what extent Sonu is spot on is very clear. According to him, the essence of music is deteriorating because of all these uselessness where people are getting cut-throat for wrong reasons. At this moment, we need to witness if the industry is conscious of Sonu’s point of view and start giving the brighter picture.
