Ticketek Australia confirms cancellation of Chris Brown's Australia and New Zealand tours

MUMBAI: Chris Brown’s Australia and New Zealand tour has been cancelled, Ticketek Australia has confirmed on its Facebook page. It has been assumed that the cancellation has come after his visa was refused due to the domestic violence charges he faced for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and pop star Rihanna in 2009.

Earlier this September, Brown attempted to appeal to the Federal Government, who has banned him from entering Australia, as the Australian immigration department issued a ‘notice of intention to consider refusal’ following his next planned tour.

The ‘Forever’ singer addressed it on Twitter saying:

Fans were informed about the concert’s cancellation through the show’s organiser- Ticketek Australia’s Facebook page. It further stated, “Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future. Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future.”

Refund for the tickets has been also announced. The now cancelled shows were scheduled at Perth Arena, Rod Laver Arena, Allphones Arena and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 9th, 12th, 14th and 16 December, respectively.
