MUMBAI: After waiting for more than a year, Sarthak FM, Orissa finally launched today. The station has launched in Bhubhaneshwar now and will be launching in Rourkela shortly.
Before the launch, Sarthak FM was on a test-run from 1 April. It was suppose to launch on 14 April but due to licensing issues, there was a delay in the launch. This kept the audience on the edge for Sarthak FM’s official release.
“The test-run gave us an amazing response. As we announced our launch, people started saying ‘Finally aa raha hai’. Our clarity of sound is better as compared to the other existing radio stations. I have seen the local shops here have also tuned in to Sarthak FM. It will surely turn out to be a great achievement,” said Sarthak FM programming head, Amit Kumar.
Sarthak FM is Orissa’s first 24 hour radio station with Odhia content. The station has an interesting line-up on the show with exclusive content.
3pm to 5pm, ‘Chal Gapiba Geeta Suniba’ with RJ Sunayana a phone in request with be taken along with some important message about whatsapp and its viral uses.
“We are excited to put on-air Orissa’s first FM station playing Odhia songs only. Always bringing new ground – movies, music, television, our time-tested creativity is now entirely focused on to delight our listeners with the richness and variety of contemporary Odhia music. We look forward to unwillingly a new era in FM, for the listeners, with the listeners,” said Sarthak FM head, Sitaram Agrawal.
