Radio Indigo COO Jayyant Bhokare quits

MUMBAI: Veteran radio executive Jayyant Bhokare has quit Jupiter Ventures' Radio Indigo after a 10 month stint at the Bangalore headquartered FM station. Indigo runs two FM stations - one in Bangalore and one in Goa, and is known for its differentiated music.The station, which positions itself as a CHR (current hit radio) station and has undergone a programme overhaul to focus and cater to the taste of its target audience, which largely comprises young working adults.

Mercedes-Benz Expands Support & Commitment of HD Radio(TM) Technology

MUMBAI: iBiquity Digital Corporation, the developer of digital HD Radio(TM) technology for AM and FM audio and data broadcasting, announced today that Mercedes-Benz will extend the availability of HD Radio technology on its vehicles to a total of 11 models. Google partners Warner, Sony for China music service

MUMBAI: Search engine Google has started a free music service in China that offers songs by artists including U2, Beyonce and Kanye West for free in the world's biggest Web market by users, say reports. The Internet company introduced the music search and download service in cooperation with Warner Music Group Corp., Sony Corp., Universal Music Group, Broadcast Music Inc. and 140 other independent labels, Google said in a statement distributed at a briefing today in Beijing. It's also working with Top100.cn, a Chinese Web site for downloading licensed online music.

Rahman to perform in Kerala in May

MUMBAI: A R Rahman has agreed to conduct his music show in Kozhikode on 3 May, making it his first since the Oscar wins. Rahman will perform a live music concert titled 'Jai Ho India' at Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode, Kerala, on May 3 to express solidarity with HIV positive orphan children. It is the first mega music show by Rahman after he won two Oscars for Slumdog Millionaire recently. Besides Rahman, over 50 well-known musicians will be participating in this show being organized by the NGO Global Kerala Initiative.
