Different flavors of music at Kala Ghoda festival

MUMBAI: On the opening day of the Kala Ghoda Festival, a crowd of around 6000 people were present to experience the musical gala at Cross Maidan. The musical evening of the art fest kick-started with Isheeta Ganguli singing Rabindranath Tagore’s songs and driving high level of patriotism with ‘Vande Mataram’. This was followed by ‘Hari Om Hari’ singer Usha Uthup who hit the beat of entertainment and enthralled the audiences for 90 minutes. Her energy on the stage was followed by Chintu Bhosle, grandson of legendary singer Asha Bhosle.

Sting, Rihanna and Bruno Mars to collaborate for Grammy performance

MUMBAI: Renowned international artistes Sting, Rihanna and Bruno Mars will collaborate for a special musical performance at the 55th annual Grammy Awards, scheduled to be held on 10 February. The three musicians will take the stage together for a special performance, the Recording Academy confirmed. The news was announced on the Grammys’ official Twitter account. They tweeted, “In case you missed, @BrunoMars @Rihanna + Sting (@OfficialSting) will be performing together at the 55th #GRAMMYs next Sunday on @CBSTweet!"

CR Jago Mumbai temporarily goes off-air

MUMBAI: Even as the government takes phlegmatic measures to improve the state of community radio stations in the country, Mumbai’s first community radio Jago Mumbai has temporarily gone off-air citing issues related to financial losses. A community radio initiative by the residents of Bandra, the decision to stop the broadcast was taken by its producers Union Park Residents Association (UPRA) after the Union Park building management decided to cut short the lease period to just 12 months.
