Mika Singh detained at Mumbai airport

MUMBAI: Popular bollywood playback singer Mika Singh was arrested at the Mumbai International Airport late on Wednesday evening for allegedly carrying Indian and foreign currency beyond permissible limits. The singer was later released on bail after interrogation by custom officials. He was intercepted and detained by the custom department after he arrived from Bangkok by a private airline around 7:30pm.

Pitroda Committee sets up 11 groups for Prasar Bharati

NEW DELHI: The Sam Pitroda committee set up to review working of Prasar Bharati has announced formation of 11 groups to work on various issues including the public broadcaster’s relationship with the government. The groups were announced after the first meeting of the committee held on 5 February in New Delhi. Pitroda while addressing a news conference that the groups would report in a maximum of two months and the committee hopes to wind up its work in four-six months.

Jazzy B renders 'Jugni' for Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns

MUMBAI: Jazzy B has rendered the theme song ‘Jugni’ for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming Bollywood romantic thriller Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster Returns (SBAGR). The track will be released digitally on 9 February under Junglee music, an initiative of Times music. The music video of the track will also be out next week.  Kausar Munir and Manvendra are lyricists of the song while Sandeep Chowta has composed five tracks for the movie.

Pink unveils music video 'Just Give Me a Reason'

MUMBAI: American singer-songwriter Pink recently unveiled the music video of her third single ‘Just Give Me a Reason’ from her album ‘The Truth About Love’. The song features Fun frontman Nate Ruess. It is a pop ballad written by Pink and Ruess and produced by Jeff Bhasker. The music video showcases the singer in a starry dream set with Ruess joining her in other scenes, as the two harmonize on the heartbreaking, power pop ballad together. It also features Pink’s real-life husband Carey Hart and the singer expressing love for each other.

Paid subscription model will improve quality of music videos, curb piracy: YouTube

MUMBAI: Video sharing site YouTube’s proposed paid subscription option to be introduced in the coming months will be simple, improve quality of music videos, fend off piracy and expand user’s range of options, YouTube (India) said. According to reports, the site- which is owned by Internet giant Google- and is the most popular of its kind in the world is reaching out to several producers asking them to submit applications to create for-pay "channels." The first such channels could be available to consumers by the second quarter for between $1 to $5 a month.
