Rating: 1.5/5

Can two women staying under one roof make a happy home? Karan Johar's We Are Family, the desi adaptation of the Susan Sarandon-Julia Roberts starrer, Stepmom pops out with this question.

The soundtrack of the film, Ankhon Mein Neendein' starts with Indian Sa ni sa ni sa ga re…which is quite soothing to the ears. With the trio Sankar-Ehsaam-Loy as the music directors, you expect real touchy music, apt for the theme of the film. The song is sung by Rahat Fatah Ali Khan and mesmerizing Shreya Ghoshal along with Shankar. Haathon mein mere teri lakeerein, Meri saari saansein teri jageerein, Dede chaahe koi saara zamana, Badle mein doon na teri tasveerein………………... Irshad Karmil hasn't done any exceptional work with the lyrics of the song.

If you're an Elvis Presley fan, it's time for you to put a lid on your ears. You might just want to sue every person associated with this song. Dil Khol Ke Let's Rock' is ear-splitting and not quite enjoyable. Singer Anushka Manchanda displays her patent style with a dash of attitude that is cheerful and carefree. Besides her Akriti and Suraj Jagan are behind the mic this time. Jagan sounds as if he is screaming on the top of his voice. The music is such that it could have made a good jiving song or atleast a club hit, but unfortunately the lyrics and the singing ruin the feel it should aptly carry.

Next song brings together Shankar and Vishal Dadlani. This leisurely track starts with mild solo by Shankar and picks up all of a sudden with Vishal joining in. It has rock music, the kind which the rock bands have during their live performances. The chorus is the only magical bit in the song.

Hamesha and Forever' is a track sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. It sounds more like a song that a mother sings for her loving child to put it to deep sleep.

Shreya Ghoshal brings you one more lullaby Sun Le Dua Yeh Aasman'. This is a slow-moving track that leaves you with a gloomy feeling. But thumbs up for Ghoshal who handles the track solely.

The last one is the theme song of We Are Family. It is relaxing piece that matches well with the film and tries totting up all the feelings. The theme track is a blend of various musical instruments like violin, flute and piano.

The film stars Kajol as a divorcee mother suffering from cancer and Kareena as the stepmom while Arjun plays the role of a photographer deeply in love with Kareena.

You might have expected the tracks of the film to do superbly well as it is associated with the top and talented from industry but perhaps it might disappoint you to the core

Along with six fresh tracks, the audio of the film also consists of four bonus tracks from Johar's previous hits.
