Channel [V] spruces up content with 7 new shows

NEW DELHI: After donning a Bloody Cool... image last year, Channel [V], the youth music channel from the Star India stable, is expanding its content offerings.

Starting 29 March, Channel [V] is launching seven new weekly shows, one for everyday at 7 pm. Catering to the youth, the new programming mix will have shows based on Bollywood, relationships and campuses updates.

Channel [V] India GM Prem Kamath says, Keeping in mind the variety of interests and passions of our viewers, it has been our constant endeavour to try and reflect every aspect of these myriad interests in the edgiest, and the most interesting and entertaining form possible....

The channel has also planned an extensive on-air as well as off-air promotion for these shows across print, digital, television and outdoor. Channel [V] has partnered with Fame Cinemas and & Caf?© Coffee Day outlets for on ground presence. Apart from this, there is also activation across 8000 cybercafes.

An exclusive contest will also be hosted on Contests2win which will offer one winner a brand new Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade for guessing correctly all the names of the new shows.

Incidentally, music channels launch the shows at 7 pm as it has been the primetime for the targeted youth audience. However, as these channels do not have appointment viewing, the channels opt for high number of repeats during the week.

Among the shows, Campus Top 10 will be aired on Mondays, which will feature a music countdown peppered with college kids sharing their views on Bollywood stars and movies.

On Tuesdays, the channel will air Deadly Dus - [V]'s take on the top 10 Bollywood controversies, makeovers, rivalries presented in a slick, pacy manner.

[V] R Family will be aired every Wednesday which will narrate the tales of Bollywood's biggest families. On Thursdays, School of Cool will cover relationships, fashion, rants, gigs, fights, latest movies and music all packaged together. This is the Campus radar on everything and anything that's Bloody Cool.

On Fridays Lovenet will be the place where virtual will meet real and couples into online dating will meet each other for the very first time in person.

Saturdays will see Truth Love Cash - a romance reality show that stars real life couples. With money and love at both ends, this show shall explore if love is calculated after all.

And Bollywood Nonsensex on Sundays is the much needed comic relief to call it a week with the Bollywood Stars being traded as stocks and shares on the Bollywood Exchange....
