Maruti Suzuki and Radio Mirchi present Traffic School, an initiative to increase traffic awareness

New Delhi: Radio Mirchi together with Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the ‘Maruti Traffic School’ Initiative today aimed at raising awareness on road safety as well as educate people on the importance of adhering to traffic rules.

The Initiative kick started with a Flag off ceremony of a rally in the presence of Commissioner of Police (Traffic –Gurgaon) Navdeep Singh Virk, Mahesh Rajoria who is AVP of the Driving Training of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, and Nitin Singh, Cluster Head (Delhi), Radio Mirchi.

The week-long activity will recognize commuters who will be adhering to the traffic rules and wearing the protective gear; as well as acknowledge the traffic police personnel’s at the signals. As part of the drive, a convoy of branded cars will visit close to 10 traffic signals every day for a week (till 16 January, 2016) covering important market places, residential colonies, schools and colleges in the way.

Announcing the initiative Radio Mirchi COO Mahesh Shetty said “Maruti Traffic School is an initiative to spread awareness on road safety and to make obeying traffic rules a way of life. We look forward to working very closely with Maruti to make this happen.”

Present at the Flag off ceremony, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd executive director of sales & marketing RS Kalsi said, “We are excited to launch the initiative collectively with Radio Mirchi, urging people to follow traffic rules. We strongly believe that through Maruti Traffic School initiative we will be able create awareness in masses on traffic sense.”

Commuters from each city can also be a part of the campaign by posting pictures of their fellow commuters’ #marutitrafficschool who will be seen following the traffic rules. Lucky winner will be awarded by Radio Mirchi.
