DHX Media teams up with The Orchard

MUMBAI:  Content creator DHX Media partnered with music, video and film distribution company the Orchard. It is a multi-year electronic sell-through deal signed between both parties.

As per the agreement, the Orchard will distribute more than 8,000 episodes of DHX Media’s library content along with additional newly produced and acquired series during the course of the relationship. The Orchard will also be the worldwide digital distributor for DHX’s current library containing more than 2,000 tracks of children’s music.

The deal will cover six regions namely the US, Latin America, South Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

DHX Media SVP distribution Josh Scherba said, “With the global proliferation of digital entertainment platforms, it is imperative to team up with selected companies that offer specific expertise. The Orchard is a pioneering distribution business, ideally positioned to help expand the availability of DHX shows and music in the digital space.”

The Orchard SVP of Film and TV Paul Davidson said, “DHX represents the best in children’s programming and we are excited about the fantastic opportunity to bring their stellar shows and music to fans all across the globe as digital continues to grow exponentially.”

Through the deal, DHX Media’s families and children content will reach out to more than 200 million paying customers through its retail network, which includes iTunes, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Sony, Spotify, Pandora, Google Play and many others.
