Spud in the Box at Harley Rock Riders pre-gig by Jack & Jones

MUMBAI: On 12 November, Harley-Davidson’s annual gig Harley Rock Riders will host an evening that will bring together rock and bike lovers. Expected to be mayhem of music and motorcycles, Mumbai based alt rock band Spud In The Box (SitB) will be performing as part of Harley Rock Riders pre-gig organised by Jack & Jones. The six piece group will be jamming live at the apparel store, which hosts the monthly All Starr Jamm gig.

It is a preview to Season five of India’s biggest rock music festival – Harley Rock Riders, which is back with a power-packed line-up consisting of some of India’s big rock outfits. Spud in the Box is a six piece alternative rock band from Mumbai. Since their formation in 2011, the band has gone on to garner popular and critical acclaim for their tight, energetic live performances and accessible song writing. The band strikes a perfect balance between intricate musical arrangements and catchy melodies.

Their E.P. ‘Attention Please’, produced by national award winner K.J Singh, got the band numerous awards and nominations like Best Rock Band, Best Produced Album, Best Indie Song, Best Rock Album, Best pop Album, Best Debut, Best Emerging Act at the Radio City Freedom Awards, the IRA awards, the GIMA awards and the Jack Daniels Rock Awards.

With a constantly growing fan base across the country, SitB has been able to tour extensively not only in the metros, but also in smaller towns like Karjat, Ooty and Kochi. They have played alongside the biggest names in India like The Raghu Dixit Project, Indus Creed, Soulmate, Junkyard Groove, Nikhil D'souza, Ankur Tewari, Blackstratblues, etc. and have also opened for Norah Jones.

SitB has played at some of the most popular music festivals in India like A Summer's Day, Bacardi NH7 Weekender, The Kala Ghoda Festival, The Pepsi MTV Indies launch, India Music Week, The M.A.D. Festival, Ragasthan, the Revival of the Bandstand festival, and the Celebrate Bandra Festival. They were also the first act to play atop the Red Bull Tour Bus in India.
