MUMBAI: After a relatively dull last year, the composer duo of Vishal and Shekhar have several projects in their kitty. The duo have recently come on board as composers for Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan staring Akshay Kumar. They would also be scoring the music of Shahrukh Khan starter RA-1.

Baajaa Gaajaa 2010 more diverse in its second leg

AIR Haflong airs live broadcast of Busu Dima fest

MUMBAI: The Haflong station of All India Radio took a major leap on 1 February 2010 with its first ever live outdoor broadcast - a running commentary of the Busu Dima fest, the biggest local festival of the region. The ground event is being celebrated in the main public field at Haflong, known as Lal Field  Haflong, which literally means the 'White Ants Hillock', is the headquarters of the North Cachar Hills district in Assam. It also serves as a hill resort to many tourists.

J D Rock Awards '10 to honour Biddu with Lifetime Achievement award

MUMBAI: At the The 5th Jack Daniel's Annual Rock Awards 2009-10, legendary music producer Biddu will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The event is to be held  at Mumbai's Hard Rock Caf?© on 5 February  2010. Born in Bangalore, Biddu started his career as a teenager in the 1960s, first in his home city and then in Mumbai, playing in pop groups whose influences lay in the classic repertoire of bands like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Following his early success, he decided to head west and make his name on the international scene.

Site attack - Hackers paralyse DNA Networks' site to protest Backstreet Boys' visit

MUMBAI: In a bid to express displeasure over American pop band Backstreet Boys performing in India, an Indian metal fan allegedly hacked the official website of DNA Networks' annual music fest on 1 February 2010. A R Rahman nominated for IFMCA Award

MUMBAI: The International Film Music Critics Association has nominated A R Rahman in the category of Best Original Score for a Comedy Film �Couples Retreat' which marked his entry into Hollywood in 2009. The other film and music directors nominated in the same category are James Newton Howard for Duplicity, Marvin Hamlisch for The Informant, Alexandre Desplat for Julie and Julia and Debbie Wiseman for Lesbian Vampire Killers.
