The process of getting Edray on board took about seven months: Amrit Dasu on 'Okay'

MUMBAI: American singer, songwriter, Dasu was born in the United States and raised in the city of Hong Kong. Discovered by Rishi Rich the producer behind Jay Sean, Dasu was recently signed under Universal Music India, under which he is releasing his new work.

However, Dasu’s music has received a million views on his channel for his songs in the past. His single Turn Back Time which features Jamaican talent Charly Black has more than a million on United Kingdom’s BBC Radio. The singer released Okay under Universal Music recently.

For this track he has collaborated with Edray, a singer-songwriter, Edray first gained attention on the first season of The Voice in the Philippines. “Her label UMG Philippines loved the song and wanted to feature their young talent. The song did fit her and she did a great job. She came through with some amazing vocals and really made the track. For someone so young she has a lot of maturity in her voice, she handled the powerful lyrics really well. The duet sounds so well put together. From start to finish the song gets more and more interesting. I’m really proud of the end result,” explained Dasu on his collaboration with Edray.

The single was written by Dasu and he shares that the single talks about ignoring the jarring noise when in a relationship and to just live in the moment. Edray also shares that the lyrics of the song inspired her since it talks about a person afraid to love that the other person is ready to show how to love without fear.

“The main idea behind the song was to have fun and make it a very innocent and sweet track. Okay took me about 30 minutes to write and the whole process of getting Edray on board took about seven months,” added Dasu.
