BBC launches scientific study on music in the UK

MUMBAI: BBC Radio 3 and BBC Lab UK are launching a scientific experiment that asks the British public to help discover how musical Britain is. By taking the 'How Musical Are You?' test, participants will reveal their own musical profile, while at the same time helping scientists to define what it really means to be "musical". The launch of the experiment accompanies Radio 3's season celebrating the music and genius of Mozart over 12 days in an unprecedented radio event.

Turner unloads stake in Showbiz, Reliance Broadcast to buy from CAPL

MUMBAI: Turner has sold its entire 51 per cent stake in Imagine Showbiz to joint venture partner Cinestar Advertising Pvt Ltd (CAPL) as part of a chain of transactions that will conclude with Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd (RBNL) taking complete ownership of the Bollywood music channel. CAPL now has 100 per cent ownership of Imagine Showbiz and will be selling it to RBNL. "We have completed the transaction with Turner and own 100 per cent of Imagine Showbiz. We are in the process of selling our entire stake to RBNL," says Cinestar Advertising promoter Abhimanyu Singh.

CBFC final authority on content of songs in films: Soni

NEW DELHI: Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said Monday that the Central Board for Film Certification had been given the mandate of judging the item songs or other scenes in films. On a question about a directive of the Allahabad High Court on item songs in films, Soni said the Ministry had conveyed this in its reply to the Court notice.

GoM meet soon to consider FM Radio Phase III, increase in FDI
