Second edition of Nokia Music Connects to commence on 1-2 Sept

MUMBAI: After witnessing tremendous success in 2009, Nokia Music Connects is back this year bringing the national and international music fraternity together on a common platform to discuss issues facing the music business 

A joint venture conceptualised by Hong Kong based Music Matters and leading Indian media portal Radioandmusic.com, Nokia Music Connects is envisaged as an annual gathering of the Indian music business to be held this year at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai on 1-2 September 2010.

The two day long conference will comprise a series of high powered panels formed of key industry executives, who will dwell on and discuss several pertinent issues facing the music industry in India. Speakers at the various panels include regulatory heads, music label honchos, advertising gurus, corporate heads as well as top notch creative professionals from the music industry, both from India and abroad.

Those participating in the conference will be key players from all these sectors, making the event as much of an exciting networking platform as a forum where vital issues facing the industry will be discussed and a path to the future will be forged. The venture is supported by the umbrella organisation of the music industry, the Indian Music Industry (IMI).

The Modules that will make up the conference includes India in India, India to the World and World to India. Each module will be discussed over half day each, consisting of varied topics.

On day One,  the panels that will make up the conference includes Exploiting the potential of Indian music, Live promise, Breaking out of the Indian artiste and Bringing in the moolah.

Day two includes sessions such as Piracy puzzle, Copyright or Copywrong, Role of media. Post this is a session focusing on South including a tete a tete with Sun Network's Vidya Sagar and a session on Regional music and other genres. The session will then flow towards Digital Domain which includes a tete a tete with Lioyd Mathias from Tata Teleservices Ltd, Eva Buschkrei from Vodafone Essar Ltd and Mobilium Advisory group's Ralph Simon. The next session will address the issue of Mobile Digital business in India and Going live. The day will end with leaders from the industry giving their final take.

Among the industry luminaries who have agreed to be part of the conference are IMI president Vijay Lazarus, Saregama's Atul Churamani, Tips' Kumar Taurani, Hungama founder Neeraj Roy, Saregama's Apurv Nagpal, Achille Forler from Universal Music Publishing, Nokia's Adam Mirabella, Times Music's Adarsh Gupta, Sabbas Joseph from Wizcraft, Only Much Louder Entertainment Pvt Ltd.'s Vijay Nair, MTV's Vikas Varma, Vineet Taneja from Bharti Airtel Ltd, Vipul Pradhan representing PPL, Liam Donnelly from PRS for Music and Marty Diamond from Paradigm Agency.

Other distinguished guests to join the esteemed panel are Sun Network's Ajay Vidyasagar, Seymour Stein from Sire Records, South Indian film star Khushbu, Landmark CEO Himnshu Chakrwarti and film producer Boney Kapoor representing the film industry amongst others.
