Radio City enters 'Limca Book of Records' with 'Tallest Christmas Tree' ever

MUMBAI: Radio City has registered itself in the ‘Limca Book of Records’ for ‘Tallest Christmas Tree’ ever created. The 30 feet high tree decorated by gifts collected from listeners over the last 10 days is placed at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon.

The gifts collected from the activity will be donated to ‘Save the Child’ NGO cheering up Christmas for underprivileged children. The station started collecting the gifts in a nationwide campaign from 17 December where listeners could either hand over the gifts personally to RJs or donate the gifts in drop-boxes across Delhi. The 30 feet Christmas tree reaching out to the top-most floor of the mall was built in-house decorated with gifts. The display will be on till the 31 December when the gifts will be distributed amongst ‘Save the Children’ kids.

Speaking on the initiative, Radio City national programming head Kartik Kalla said, “We are extremely happy that our CSR activity around Christmas became so popular adding on to the festivities. This started as a simple idea but the overwhelming response from our listeners made us take this activity to a whole new level – the ‘Limca Book of Records’. Not only Delhi, but all our 20 stations have seen encouraging response for the activity. The bigger delight is that we could deliver some smiles through this activity, thanks to our listeners!“

Radio City Christmas Campaign is across all its 20 stations and gifts collected from the campaign will be distributed to NGOs in the respective cities.
