Placido Domingo and SBTRKT fill up last spots at iTunes Festival 2014

MUMBAI: Apple has filled up the last two vacant spots of performers for its month long iTunes Festival, which will kick off from Monday, 1 September. Playing on the 19th will be London-based musical performer SBTRKT (Aaron Jerome), who is known for remixing songs by different artistes like Radiohead, M.I.A and Basement Jaxx.

Closing the festival, in another previously vacant spot, will be renowned Spanish conductor and tenor Plácido Domingo. The veteran Opera singer is also the general director of California’s Los Angeles Opera.

Opening the 30-day festival will be Canadian DJ and music producer Deadmau5 (Joel Zimmerman), who will be supported by Friend Within and Kate Simko & London. The festival has also announced some top international acts as headliners including Pharrell Williams, Maroon 5, Calvin Harris, Placebo, David Guetta, Lenny Kravitz, The Script, Mary J Blige, Ed Sheeran and Tony Bennett.

The iTunes Festival 2014 will be held at The Roundhouse in London, as it is done every year. Every day throughout the month of September, the festival will bring to the city of London one new act for live performances. However, tickets for the performances are not available for buying. Instead there will be a lucky draw for a select few to watch the acts perform live. The performances will, however, be streamed through Apple TV and iTunes for those who want to watch them.
