James Franco to unveil debut album 'MotorCity'

MUMBAI: Carving out a new career in the music industry, actor James Franco from Oscar winning movie '127 Hours' is all set to release his debut album 'MotorCity' under the name 'Daddy'.

Franco has teamed up with his college friend Tim O'Keefe for the album which also features guest vocals by Motown singer Smokey Robinson, who collaborated with the actor after meeting him on a flight. The cover art of the album presents the actor's recent 'Spring Breakers' co-stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine.

"I know I do a lot of things. I'm very aware of that. I'm sure there are a lot of sceptical people, hearing about me doing music. To me, it all comes from a similar place. It's like using different tools to express things in different ways," he told to Ace Showbiz.

The star also said that he wrote and produced 'MotorCity' while filming 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' in Detroit. The movie is due to hit screens next year and also stars Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weisz.
