Radio Mirchi answers MumbaiÆs monsoon woes with 'Lift Kara De û Season Five'

MUMBAI: One thing that Mumbaikars dread during monsoon is the daily commute! heavy downpour usually leads to perennial problems of water clogging, train delays, overcrowded buses and scarcity of cabs & autos. Radio Mirchi has once again taken up the initiative to give residents of Mumbai a much-needed relief from this hectic travelling. After coming to their rescue for four years, Radio Mirchi took the daily commuters on a joy-ride in the 5th edition of ‘Lift Kara De’ this monsoon.

Lift Kara De – Season 5 in association with Toyota Etios Liva and zeel rain wear, successfully managed to put a smile on the faces of hundreds of office-goers by providing free pick-up and drop services across the landscape of Mumbai.

Zooming through the streets of Mumbai, the Radio Mirchi-branded Toyota Etios Liva cars picked up commuters in distress from some of the busiest locations in Mumbai and dropped them to their desired office destination, also providing them with complimentary rain-gear from zeel rain wear! Before the start of the activity, Radio Mirchi RJs took suggestions from Mumbaikars about areas that face problems during monsoon. Based on their inputs, high-traffic locations such as Andheri, Dadar, Vashi, Santacruz, Churchgate, Govandi, Malad and Thane were finalized for a period of four weeks on rotation basis.

The hugely popular campaign was endorsed by the bigwigs of Bollywood such as Farhan Akhtar, Imran Khan, Shruti Haasan, Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi, Richa Chadda and Pulkit Samrat.

Speaking about this initiative, Radio Mirchi Mumbai cluster head, Preeti Nihalani, said, “Over the last four years, we have received tremendous response and feedback from Mumbaikars on the Lift Kara De campaign. We think more than incessant rains and water-clogging, most of us are worried about commuting from one location to another during peak office hours. This initiative is a solution to these issues faced by residents during Monsoon. We would like to thank Toyota and zeel rain wear for supporting us in making this endeavor a big success. We hope to continue our efforts to make lives of Mumbaikars happy.”
