IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited along with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM & Traffic Police dedicates a week to road safety

MUMBAI: January 1-7 every year is observed as road safety week. Currently, Road Accidents account for a majority of the casualties in India. Road accidents have become the number one killer with newspapers reporting casualties everyday across the nation. The number of road accidents and casualties can, to a very large extent, be reduced if people follow simple traffic rules. IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd along with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM & Traffic Police have thus decided to make an attempt to create public awareness of road safety measures through their initiative on road safety called the �IL&FS Transportation road safety week'

By dedicating the first week of January 2010 (January 1-7) to road safety, IL&FS Transportation along with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM & Traffic Police we aim to educate and appeal to the radio listeners to follow the simple rules of traffic in their daily life for their own benefit thereby hoping to significantly reduce these unfortunate happenings

As part of the drive, Radio Mirchi will appeal to the citizens of Mumbai through various platforms such as RJ Mentions, Daily themes etc.This activity is being carried out across 7 cities-Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, Surat and Jaipur
