MUMBAI: Asian Television Awards also honored Resul with a diamond studded Arabic Sword carved out of 24 carat gold.

Resul pookutty our proud "Oscar" winner was recently invited to be the Chief Guest at the prestigious Asian Television Awards that was held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Dubai on 24th April. This was his first ever visit to the Middle East after winning the Oscars.

Just a day before the Awards he also addressed a press conference at Sheraton Deira in Dubai  Resul said "I am honored and very happy to be a part of Asian Television awards as it not only felicitates the talent of people onscreen but also recognize the talents behind the camera as they all play a very important part in success of any film or show". He thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Award function. Along with Resul famous singer from the Middle East Jawad Al Ali was also present at the Award function as the Guest of Honors  Asian Television Awards also honored Resul with a diamond studded Arabic Sword carved out of 24 carat gold.

Asian Television Awards is a concept of Asia Vision Group Dubai, the leading event organisers in Dubai and is mainly sponsored by Emirates Post and Desert Vision. The function was organized by Asia Vision and Radio Asia.

For the first time ever such an award function had been organized where Keralites the largest expatriate community in UAE voted for their favorite television stars from Malayalam channels through the website and physical ballot papers placed at Emirates Posts outlets all over UAE. As the name denotes this award is a step to recognize and honor the talents of people working in the Malayalam television industry. The Award night was presented by a wide range of performers like Benny Dayal, Stephen Devessy, Rimitomy, and Kannur Sharif and was directed by Ajith N.V Trivandrum.
