Radio Jockeys from top FM stations attend workshop organised by the Election Commission of India

MUMBAI: To provide information on voting and its entire process as well as to be a doorway to educate voters, the Election Commission of India organised a workshop for Radio Jockeys in Delhi. The event was attended by around 19 RJs from leading radio stations like AIR, RED FM BIG FM, Radio City and Ishq FM.

The event, which was a two-hour interactive session gave radio jocks information about the entire process of voting. Election Commission of India Secretary A. K. Pathak introduced the session to the attendees. During the workshop, RJs were given information on different ways to educate voters. Also, with Lok Sabha Elections 2019 just around the corner, special focus was given to VPAT awareness, EVM V and ‘Verify your details on Electoral Roll’ Campaign etc.

Radio Jockeys and their shows play a key role in creating awareness. Their shows not only reach even the rural areas, but the local connect of RJs, help in getting positive response from the listeners. Hence, the workshop aimed to cash on the fan following of Radio Jockeys of top radio stations to promote proper voting education to listeners across the country.

Meanwhile, ECI Director Padma Angmo ensured to clarify every possible query of RJs, who in assured to promote voting and provide their listeners correct education on voting as well as encourage them to vote!
