MUMBAI: Country singer Keith Urban is taking a side step in the music industry and will debut his own line of guitars. The ‘American Idol’ judge has teamed with HSN (Home Shopping Network) is all set to introduce his own collection, which will be available from 3 November.

The line features 21 pieces, including two versions of the musician’s Phoenix Edition guitar- an electric/acoustic version and an acoustic version which will be available in a number of different finishes. Talking about the new line Urban said, “I’ve watched some of the greatest guitarists in the world perform and I’ve seen people just learning how to play. The looks on their faces are almost always the same and the connection with the instrument is genuine.”

Called ‘The Urban Guitar Collection’, the new line is aimed at providing aspiring musicians with affordable instruments. The collection will also include two hour long instructional DVDs. The four-time Grammy Award winner, who has long been committed to various music programmes, is ensuring more than just hopeful musicians will benefit from the line. A portion of the proceeds from the guitar collection will be given to The Grammy Foundation and the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.
