One Direction's 'History' trends in India within hours of its release

MUMBAI: The hand-clapping, sing-along song that released less than 24 hours go is already a massive hit in India and is creating waves on the internet. The video has been trending since its release in India and the fans are leaving no stone unturned to ensure every Indian watches the video. With India having the 5th highest fan base worldwide, clearly nothing less was expected of them!

‘History’, the third single of the UK band’s fifth album, Made in the AM, was recorded explicitly in tribute to their expansive fandom. The song is all about what the band has been through and accomplished alongside the ‘One Direction’ fans for the past five years. Beginning with the fateful individual ‘X Factor’ auditions in 2010 and ending with a big old group hug at the last stop on their 2015 world tour, the video promises to get you to tears.

Liam Payne describes ‘History’ as a “modern version” of ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’. “More than anything, the song is about the way the fans and everyone have created this massive thing - One Direction - over the past five years. Out of (‘History’) comes a little bit of closure for this chapter of One Direction.” He said bringing fans to the recording studio for the chorus of ‘History’ was actually his idea, now don’t we love the idea and love the boys!

With sales of over 65 million worldwide and performances to over 7.5 million fans, One Direction truly are the pop phenomenon of this generation.
