Sony Music releases music of Sathyu's Kannada film 'Ijjodu'

BANGALORE: Reliance Big Pictures (Reliance) in partnership with Sony Music has launched the music of the MS Sathyu scripted Kannada film â€?Ijjodu' (Incompatible) at Bangalore. Reliance Big Pictures COO Mahesh Ramanathan informed that Reliance was making another Kannada film with award winning director Girish Kasaravalli   The lyrics for the film are by Sudhir Raj Attavar, the music is by Manianth Kadri - the son of legendary saxophone player Gopalnath Kadri, with Pallavi Arun as the singer and G S Bhaskar as the cinematographer

Akriti Kakkar turns composer with new album

NEW DELHI: She has been singing in Mumbai but when she launched her album and its first video came on the small screen, Akriti Kakkar decided she had to present it in the city of her origin, Delhi. The young singer, who has already won several awards not only for her singing but as anchor and presenter as well, is convinced that she owes her success at a young age to the training she received from her mother in Hindustani classical music. HR min introduces Copyright amendment in Rajya Sabha

MUMBAI: The Copyright Amendment Bill 2010 was introduced in the Rajya Sabha by the Union government on Monday seeking amendments to the Copyright Act, 1957. India will bring its copyright laws in line with international standards in internet and digital technology, providing for stringent punishment up to two years imprisonment for violation, a PTI report said.

The radio channel that functions on 24/7 basis, addresses the Assamese community worldwide with all frontiers of musical exposures that were being published during the last 90 years in the State along with discussions on various political, cultural, social and contemporary issues, say reports.

Raavan's audio launch set for 24 April

Hindustani vocalist Dr Chandrashekhar Rele no more

MUMBAI: A lawyer by profession, and a veteran Khayal music exponent, Dr Chandrashekhar  Rele passed away today in Mumbai. He was 82. Dr. Rele was a teacher, composer and a singer who studied vocal music with the legendary Kumar Gandharva. He took up music after his retirement from active law practice and devoted himself to composing music in the Khayal and teaching disciples in Mumbai.

MUMBAI: Whether Ram Gopal Varma succeeds to scare audiences with his latest offering is questionable but they are sure going to turn panicky after giving the background music an ear  RGV's films are known for their background score but the backdrop in this one composed by newbies Dharam and Sandeep are sure to damage your ear drums. They are highly dramatic dominating the actors but still fail to play any role in the narrative. Although it does manage to mount suspense in bits and parts, it falls flat at most places

MTV Networks to use Yangaroo digital media distribution system

MUMBAI: Digital media distribution company Yangaroo Inc has signed a multi-year agreement with MTV Networks Music Group under which the channel will begin utilizing Yangaroo's Digital media distribution system (DMDS) to have artist and music-related audiovisual content delivered to certain of its properties and to integrate DMDS into the company's internal workflow. MTV Networks Music Group includes music video channels MTV, MTV2, VH1, VH1 Classic, VH1 Soul and Country Music Television (CMT) and CMT Pure.
