Noted singer Milind Ingle launches hi-tech music academy
MUMBAI: Of late, the field of music has been very happening. Thanks to the explosion of our media channels hosting a spate of music events, shows & competitions and providing the glamour to vocalists and musicians. With the emerging opportunities in this field one can already see a lot of people from all age groups considering music as either a serious career option or even developing the same as a hobby.
Catering to such a vibrant aspiring community ranging from beginners to professional singers or musicians,well known singer-composer Milind Ingle (known for his chartbusting numbers like Chuimui Si Tum Lagti Ho, and Marathi album Gaarva) is set to launch a Hi-tech Music Academy – Music & Soul.... This academy is set to go live in the culturally energetic Vile Parle – in the heart of Mumbai, on the auspicious day of Gudi Padwa, 16 April 2010. Equipped with completely air-conditioned, sound proof class rooms and backed with an adjacent recording studio form the main attraction of the academy
The academy is set to offer grooming in varied music backgrounds such as – Vocal - classical, light (Gazals, bhajans ,bhavgeet, film songs, western etc) and instrumental- keyboard, guitar, tabala, etc. This will be delivered under the mentorship of Milind himself and his group of expert musicians through a well designed syllabus.
When asked about the objective behind setting up the institute, Music & Soul's founder director Milind Ingle said – In the past years a lot of budding music professionals and enthusiasts have been approaching me. Having interacted with them I realized that they seem to have a lot of talent but were also groping for necessary guidance. Also, many a times they seem to possess the necessary fundamentals of classical music but when they choose to action their career in light music ,they may severely fall short of the different techniques involved in the same. Seeing their perseverance and sensing their burning desire to excel in music, I felt the need to offer them the much sought guidance.. While I was lucky and blessed to learn these techniques from my �Gurus', going ahead, I have practiced, mastered, benefited and further evolved the same. Thus thinking through, my sole objective is to now share these techniques and learning with the next generation musicians to evolve and enrich their music further.
Hence I would like to drive home the point again for people taking up career in light music - that in today's competitive environment, performance weighs equally along with knowledge and that one needs to understand and master these techniques while establishing the fundamentals of classical music – which is what the �Music & Soul' and I will now dedicatedly attempt...
While answering the question on how is �Music & Soul' different from other existing music institutions, Milind clarified – Like the name �Music & Soul', while learning music the students will also learn other critical facets related to music which will strengthen the same through - �lectures related to specific subjects in music, theme workshops, class on audio-video clippings, etc Workshops will be held on Omkar Sadhana, music therapy, voice culture, voice dubbing, keyboard programming and music arrangement. The academy will also organize workshops for singers / vocalist and musicians for them to develop awareness, learn, improve and master sound recording techniques. The academy will also be conducting summer & winter camps for children. All these workshops will be facilitated by experts in the respective fields. Apart from these, I will also be conducting special workshops -�Art of Singing' which will cover varied aspects of music. Apart from workshops another unique feature is that the aspirants in the academy will have the opportunity to record their performance / music utilizing the studio facility under my guidance. At the same time for people who want to take music as a profession, the academy will groom them in mastering the microphone techniques along with techniques and tips on singing in a studio setting. The grooming will also aim to cover the different aspects that need to be attended to while performing in a studio based setup and while performing a live show. And yet another attraction will be the training on the popularly emerging karaoke singing.
The students at Music & Soul will not only be taught music or singing, but their exposure to music is going fuller or all rounded in covering the vocalist, the instrument, the style while making use of technology and electronic media such as audio-video clippings, CDs, etc....
Finally, Milind said that the academy is all set to fulfill the long awaited common man's desire to nurture the hobby of singing or learning the same as a profession. This has been carefully thought through while designing batches that cater to people of all age groups and professions.
