Nine FM commemorates 16th anniversary of the inclusion of Nepali language to the 8th Schedule

MUMBAI: Nine FM, the contemporary station of North Bengal & Sikkim, commemorated the inclusion of the Nepali Language into the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution on August 20.

India's repertoire of languages was strengthened with the inclusion of Nepali language. This historical moment has been etched in time and each year the entire Nepalese community relives the historical moment by organizing various literary events. Sikkim celebrated the day under the aegis of Nepali Sahitya Parishad (NSP) at NSA building. NINE FM, Gangtok was the official radio partner for the event which witnessed the presence of great literary figures who showcased their literary creations to an august audience. Padmashree Awardee and a renowned literary figure Shri Sanu Lama graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

NINE FM, Gangtok as the official radio partner was instrumental in promoting the evnt on air. Through NINE FM the Nepali Sahitya Parishad appealed to the people of Sikkim to mark the day by lighting candles and diyas outside their houses in the evening.

NINE FM Siliguri also marked the day by airing a special show and by marking an appeal to all listeners to respect each and every language which we speak in our country as it provides an identity to each. RJ Rudhir, the host of the show promoted �unity in diversity' through this show by interacting with the listeners. NINE FM has always believed in building a strong camaraderie by providing a common platform of interaction in the station.
