Mike Dean signed by Warner/Chappell Music

MUMBAI: The music publishing arm of Warner Music Group, Warner/Chappell Music (WCM) has signed a global publishing agreement with Grammy Award-winning hip hop producer Mike Dean. As per the deal, Warner/Chappell will administer Dean’s past and future songwriting with immediate effect.

Dean said, “I am excited to work with Warner/Chappell and Big Jon on expanding my musical palate, and be able to continue to innovate and push music forward.”

Warner/Chappell Music North America president Jon Platt said, “Few producers have the talent to sustain a career as long, diverse and prolific as Mike’s. From 2Pac to Kanye and everyone in between, Mike has helped great artists define new sounds. He’s always innovating, not only within hip hop, but across pop music in general. We’re thrilled to be on his team.”

The American producer has worked with Lorde, Brad Paisley, Kanye West, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. He is known more for his work with Kanye West. He contributed to the production of many of Kanye West’s albums, including ‘Yeezus’, ‘The College Dropout’, ‘Late Registration’, ‘Graduation’ and ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’. He has served as guitarist and keyboardist for West.

Dean worked with E-40, Kid Cudi, 2Pac, Scarface, Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Tech N9ne, and Devin the Dude, among others.
