'CELEBRATIONS'- A Tribute to Legendary Ghazal King Jagjit Singh

MUMBAI: Divine Social Welfare Society in association with Swar Dharohar had organized �CELEBRATIONS' (15th-16th October) A Tribute to Legendary Ghazal Singer Shri Jagjit Singh at Srifort Auditorium. It was concluded successfully with the live in concert by Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. CELEBRATIONS was well thought out Concert organized to give tribute to the legendary singer for the successful completion of 40 years in the industry and funds raised through this concert will be used for social cause of educating the under privileged children.

During the program Shri Amar Singh, chief guest of the evening felicitated Shri Jagjit Singh and Nawaz Dev Bandhi with a memento for extraordinary contribution in the music industry for last 40 years. Shri Amar Singh said during the function Jagjit Singh is one of those entertainers who never pause, who never goes stale. For four decades now, he has been conjuring up magic with his music and enthralling audiences. Jagjit Singh sings Ghazals like a human breathes.... He further added to his point I would also like to thank Divine Social Welfare Society who have been working pro actively for the upliftment of underprivileged children from years. I hope they will continue do so in future also and I would like to thank them for organizing this kind of program. My best wishes are with them....

Audiences present at the CELEBRATIONS witnessed astonishing performance of Bharat Natyam by child prodigy Sonali. On the first day of the program, Pandit Suvir Mishra paid tribute through Vichtra Veena and Janaab Zulfi Khan rendered his beautiful voice to Jagjit Singh's Ghazals.

According to Mr. Yash Sharma (General Seceratry, Divine Social Welfare Society) This event is a tribute to the singer for his outstanding contribution in last four decades. The funds collected would be used by DIVINE Social Welfare Society, a non-profit organization working for the all round development of the under privileged children through providing them mass education: Free and compulsory elementary education. Education is a basic requirement for living, which can make them strong enough to fight against poverty. Poverty hampers mental, physical and spiritual development of child education can protect them from all forms of reflect cruelty and exploitation....

�CELEBRATIONS' was an initiative of Divine Social Welfare Society in association with Swar Dharohar and this whole program was powered by Muthoot Group.
