Tickets for Dada Life's debut India tour now on sale

MUMBAI: After early bird tickets for Dada Life's first-ever India tour in June 2014 were snapped up within hours, more ticket options have now been made available on www.bookmyshow.com. Rated as one of the most popular and exciting dance music acts in the world, Dada Life, who are a regular feature at all major festivals like Tomorrowland (Belgium), Global Gathering (United Kingdom), Ultra Music Festival and Electric Daisy Carnival in the US are slated to play in India from June 6-8 in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai respectively.

The creators of massive hits and festival anthems like Happy Violence, Kick out the epic mother***er, Rolling Stones T-shirt, Feed the Dada to their credit, Dada Life is being brought down by music entrepreneur Nikhil Chinapa who has engaged with Submerge Entertainment Pvt Ltd to power the event.

"It is always a pleasure to bring down acts who are just as excited about India as their fans are about them performing here. Over the past few years, Dada Life's music has evolved into an amalgamation of grimy, edgy sounds packed with thunderous bass lines. They have created quite a niche for themselves with a sound that's far from formulaic. That combined with their stage antics and gratuitous use of the humble banana will make the India tour a party that people won't forget in a hurry," says Chinapa of the Swedish act.

Who is Dada Life?Known the world over for their manic, big-room electro-house productions like Rolling Stones T-shirt, Kick Out The Epic Motherf***er, Feed the Dada, Born To Rage and remixes like Big Bad Wolf, Dada Life have over the past couple of years become one of dance music's most exhilarating and fun acts to watch and follow. Their dramatic blend of chest-thumping, roof-smashing beats and theatrics – think giant, inflatable bananas and bottles of bubbly – make them an unmissable treat to watch.

Having met at a chilli cook-off in Stockholm, Sweden in 2006, Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom bonded over their love of food and music. They straightaway released a track, Big Time and followed that up with a steady stream of tracks – The Great Fashionista Swindle, Fun Fun Fun and Happy Hands, Happy Feet that were soon a part of the playlist for DJs around the world. They released their debut album, Just Do the Dada in 2009 and were voted the 89th most popular act according to DJ Magazine's annual poll of the 100 hottest dance music acts. With appearances at all major music festivals, their rise to eminence was noted by all when they were joined by Dutch dance music legend Tiësto on their nation-wide tour of the United States, who was on his own Tiësto's College Invasion Tour 2012.

Their second album, The Rules of Dada was another huge success – it quickly reached #1 on the iTunes Dance charts – and cemented their place in dance music pantheon.

Fun facts about Dada LifeFirm believers in the philosophy of Dada Life – "Destroy dance music and have fun. Don't look back in the past. Always go forward. Don't think too much. Always follow the money. Do the Dada" – the duo in 2013 started a petition asking the United Nations recognize Dada Life's fictitious nation of Dada Land as a sovereign country. Though their request never officially made it to the UN, their passports were seized by the Swedish government, leading to them missing their show at Ultra Music Festival. Undeterred, they celebrated March 6, 2014 as Dada Land Independence Day.

On October 26, 2013, Dada Life broke the Guinness World Record for the world's largest pillow fight at a Dada Land Compound event at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago that saw 3,813 people taking part.
