MUMBAI:  Bollywood’s Tiger, Salman Khan, is known for his philanthropic deeds including his initiative – Being Human. This time the actor helped India’s largest radio network, 93.5 Red FM, raise money for the visually challenged kids from the National Association for the Blind (NAB).  Salman Khan along with 93.5 Red FM’s top RJ, RJ Malishka encouraged Red FM listeners to donate money for Braille Kits*. The cost for one Braille Kit is Rs. 1000.

The Dabangg star created a buzz amongst the listeners about the campaign. In turn, the Mumbai audience helped in raising a whopping amount of 45 Lakhs for the noble cause. Salman Khan also contributed to the cause by donating Rs. 5 lakhs from Being Human.

Commenting on the initiative, Salman Khan said, “A Braille Kit will assist a visually challenged kid in his education. By educating special kids, we can empower them for their future. We spend 1000 bucks in eating out or smoking/drinking, that money can be of utmost importance to families who cannot afford such equipment. It is good to know that 93.5 Red FM is supporting this beautiful cause and I really hope that they continue to help many more people through their programming.”

Nisha Narayanan, Senior VP – Programming & Projects, 93.5 Red FM said, “We at Red FM are absolutely delighted with the massive response garnered by the campaign. I would like to thank Mr. Salman Khan as well as the Mumbai audience for their tremendous support. The success of this campaign motivates us further to take up more social issues and contribute in making lives better.”

“It was a pleasure interacting with the kids from National Association for the Blind (NAB). They are quite talented; however, all they need is some support and encouragement from us. I was happy to share this platform with Salman Khan, whose presence made this possible for us,” added India’s top RJ, RJ Malisha.
