Red FM sings a social tune with musical big wigs

MUMBAI: Red FM is riding high to stay ahead in the race of leading FM stations in the country. Earlier this month, the radio station completed a decade in the industry but refused to celebrate it in the traditional style, standing apart from the rest. Playing around innovation on radio, the station recently hosted live show ‘Malishka Hawa Main’ and has now undertaken a social initiative ‘Gaa Ke Bajaa’ celebrating its decade-long journey in the industry.

Commencing from 26 July, ‘Mumbai Local Pe RJ Rishi Kapoor K Saath Bollywood Ke Top Musicians Gaa Ke Bajaayengey !!!’ will showcase singers rendering songs on social issues concerning the city. Famous musicians and singers like Sneha Khanwalkar,  Shilpa Rao, Sachin-Jigar and Meet Brothers amongst others will compose and render songs based on issues like ‘Khadde (potholes) Ka Attyachar’, ‘Mumbai Local Ki Magajmaari’, ‘Petrol Ka Rubab’, ‘Kaam Chaalu Kahaniya’ (metro/monorail/flyover/shanghai), ‘Rickshawala’, ‘Monsoon Ki Much-Much’ and ‘Corruption’.

Commenting on the initiative, 93.5 Red FM Network senior VP- projects and programming Nisha Narayanan says, “We wanted to do something different from the traditional way anniversaries are celebrated on radio and hence conceptualised “Gaa Ke Bajaa”. With this initiative we will highlight the issues affecting every Mumbaikar on a day to day basis in a very entertaining way with some eminent singers from the industry.”

The week-long initiative will feature on evening show ‘Mumbai Local’ hosted by RJ Rishi Kapoor, Monday to Saturday from 5-9pm.
