RAPL ropes in Kailash, Raja Hasan to sing promo track

MUMBAI: Media marketing company Reasonable Communications' T-10 Gully Cricket', which will kick off on 15 January 2009 has roped in singers Kailash Kher and Raja Hassan to sing the promotional track of the series.

The music for the track has been composed by Rohit Sharma. Says the composer, While briefing me about the concept, the organisers suggested that the song should command an anthem tone and have a Delhi street feel to it, as it is all about Gully (street) cricket....

He continues, The song has soulful western and Indian vocals and we have used basic instruments like the Kanjira in the composition as also electronic instruments.... The composer had composed three scratches while composing the track, one of which was finalised by RAPL.

Zee's talent hunt Saregamapa runner up Raja Hasan says, It is a beautiful track rendered by me and Kailash Kher. It was great that I was a part of the song as I am a cricket fan but cannot be part of the game. At least, I can sing the slogan for the series. As I am comfortable with the Sufi genre, Rohit Sharma wanted me to sing with a western touch and it has come out really well....

The lyrics have been penned by Sandeep Nath who had earlier contributed for films like Fashion, Sarkar Raj, Sarkar, Page 3 and Bhoot.

Rohit Sharma has recently composed the packaging music of a cookery channel floated by chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Sharma is also composing for Bollywood projects like Sahara Production's Coffee shop' which is slated for a January release and Suraj Jaiswal's Fosla' produced by Bioscope Media.
