Metallica concert postponed to Saturday

MUMBAI: Highly awaited American heavy metal band Metallica's concert scheduled for today in Gurgaon has been postponed for a day due to technical reasons.

After the announcement that the concert had been cancelled, angry fans were seen trying to damage equipment near the stage; some tried to set fire to banners near the stage, said witnesses. However, some people present at the Leisure Valley venue blamed it on the chaotic conditions there.

MTV India tweeted, The Metallica gig in Gurgaon stands cancelled due to a technical snag. It's now been pushed to 4 pm tomorrow at Leisure Valley....

A Hardcore Metallica fan present at the venue told Radioandmusic.com, "The crowd has destroyed the stage and equipments, so its unlikely the concert will take place tomm, but we all are keeping our fingers crossed".

The show will see the band's lead guitarist Kirk Hammett (who joined the band in 1983), bassist Robert Trujillo singing and playing alongside Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.
