MUMBAI: US talent show 'The Voice' refused to get the pop singer Jennifer Lopez onboard as a guest star, despite the fact that the singer made the offer herself. A source told the New York Post that the mum-of-two made a formal offer to be on the NBC show for its season finale, but the show bosses declined.

An NBC spokesperson revealed to the publication that 44 year old singer offered to be on the finale, but couldn't make the cut due to scheduling issues.

The rep added that the producers love Lopez and tried to make it work, but due to the show's format it just didn't allow for another solo performance.The Voice is currently filming season 5 and is scheduled to premiere on September 23. Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green returned as mentors joining Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

In the past, Baby One More Time singer  was part of the judges panel with Steven Tyler for American Idol season 10 and 11.

Recently, there were rumors that Lopez is engaged to boyfriend Casper Smart, which surfaced after she was spotted wearing some diamonds on a certain finger.
