Chaurasia et al to perform at Premanjali annual music fest

BANGALORE: Thee Indian music legends will perform live for the first time on stage together for the sixth Premanjali annual music festival 'Resonance' in Bangalore on 8 March - violin maestro L Subramanian; flautist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia; vocalist M Balamurali Krishna. The event is to be held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, which will be transformed to an auditorium with major acoustic arrangements, according to an official release.The organisers expect a crowd of around 4000 people. Sixty per cent of the tickets will be priced at Rs.150 and Rs.250 the rest will be sold at Rs.500 and Rs.1000 each. The main sponsor is Puruvankara Projects, and co-sponsors are HDFC Bank and Chaitanya Projects. The radio partner is Radio City 91.1 FM (RC), and radio ads will be sponsored by the Prestige group, the Brigade group and Windsors. The news media ad sponsors is the Confident group.

Premanjali Educational Trust (PET) is a charitable trust engaged in activities focused around homeless, destitute and needy children and other needy sectors. PET plans to augment its funding and bring cultural masterpieces to Bangalore. In the past PET has had celebrities such as Mallika Sarabhai, Naseeruddhin Shah, a jugalbandi of Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Balamuralikrishna, Briju Maharaj, Zakir Hussian performing for it.
