Beatles hits as ringtones on iTunes

MUMBAI: After enriching its catalogue with classics in 2010, the Beatles have officially released their first set of ringtones on iTunes. The legendary band's best 27 all time hits have been unveiled as ringtones.

The announcement was made on the official site of the band, "Beginning today, fans around the world can, for the first time, purchase ringtones for the Beatles' 27 UK and US #1 hit, exclusively on the iTunes Store."

The songs are available in 30-second ringtone form which is priced at $1.29. iTunes user can download  Beatles popular track like ‘Love Me Do,’ ‘From Me to You,’ ‘She Loves You,’ ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand,’ ‘Can't Buy Me Love,’ ‘A Hard Day's Night,’ ‘I Feel Fine,’ ‘Eight Days a Week,’ ‘Ticket to Ride,’ ‘Help!,’ ‘Yesterday,’ ‘Day Tripper,’ ‘We Can Work It Out,’ ‘Paperback Writer,’ ‘Yellow Submarine,’ ‘Eleanor Rigby,’ ‘Penny Lane,’ ‘All You Need Is Love,’ ‘Hello, Goodbye,’ ‘Lady Madonna,’ ‘Hey Jude,’ ‘Get Back,’ ‘The Ballad of John and Yoko,’ ‘Something,’ ‘Come Together,’ ‘Let It Be,’ and ‘The Long and Winding Road.’

According to Nielsen report, the addition of the Beatles to iTunes helped digital music sales in 2010 with the sales of individual tracks by 16.8 percent and digital albums by 9.6 percent.
