AR Rahman to compose for bilingual film 'Kaavia Thalaivan'

MUMBAI: Unveiling his single after a span of 15 years recently, music maestro AR Rahman is all geared up to compose for a bilingual film titled ‘Kaavia Thalaivan’. To be directed by Vasanthabalan, the film will be shot in Tamil and Telugu.

The Oscar winning composer will score all the tracks in the film, set to go on floors soon. It will star actor Siddarth in the main lead, who had last teamed up with the composer for a Tamil film ‘Boys’ in 2003 and ‘Aayutha Ezhuthu’ in 2004, and the hit Hindi film ‘Rang de Basanti’ in 2006.

Siddarth posted on Twitter, “It's official. My next film is directed by the acclaimed Vasanthabalan. Music by the one & only AR Rahman. Produced by Y Not studios. We start shoot later in the year. Working with AR after so long. Boys, Ayutha Ezhuthu, Rang de...and finally our new film. What a feeling!!!”

Vasanthabalan has earlier carved a niche for himself in Kollywood with films like ‘Veyyil’, ‘Angadi Theru’ and 'Aravaan'.

The film will be produced by Sasikanth under the ‘Y Not Studios’ banner. The cast and crew is yet to be finalized.
