Radio Mirchi gives Delhi its Comedy King

MUMBAI: India's hottest radio station, Radio Mirchi's hunt for the Comedy King culminated with Jeeveshu Ahluwalia as the winner. The month long hunt that began in April received an overwhelming response from comedians across the city.

Held at the ITC WelcomHotel Dwarka, the grand finale witnessed a tough competition between contestants that included Sumit Anand, Amit Sharma, Robin Pupneja, Vijay Chudhart, Kishore Dhayani, Pratyush, Abin Sinha, Somanth Karmarkar, Jeeveshu Ahluwalia and Sheetal from Delhi-NCR.

But, it was Jeeveshu who impressed the judges & audience the most with his unique style of wit and humour. Judges RJ Naved and stand-up comedian Maheep Singh were floored over by his comic timing, hilarious style and confidence and crowned Jeevanshu with the coveted title of Mirchi Comedy King and awarded him a grand prize of Rs. 1 lakh.

Congratulating the winner, Vivek Modi, Cluster Head for North region, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM said, "Humour is an intrinsic component of our programming mix. Hajmola Chatpata Mirchi Comedy King was an endeavour to search for fresh and sunshine talent in the stand-up comedy space. We are thrilled with the response received and look forward to organizing the second edition soon."
