Music's biggest names to honour Bob Dylan in AXS TV's broadcast

MUMBAI: AXS TV is proud to present the broadcast of the iconic concert special Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration on Sunday, 26 June at 8pE/5pP. The event will air as part of AXS TV's ‘Pioneers of Rock’ marathon, which starts at 12:30pE and features six legendary performances from some of music's biggest names.

Filmed live at Madison Square Garden, Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration brings an eclectic blend of industry legends together as they honour the icon that inspired them all—the inimitable Bob Dylan—on the 30th anniversary of his first recording. Filling in as the house band for the festivities is an all-star line-up featuring Booker T. Jones on organ; Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass; and Anton Fig and Jim Keltner on drums, Steve Cropper on guitar, with fan-favorite Saturday Night Live band leader G.E. Smith serving as musical director.

Highlights of the evening include powerful renditions of some of Dylan's most enduring songs, including ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ by John Mellencamp; ‘Blowin' In The Wind’ by Stevie Wonder; ‘Foot Of Pride’ by Lou Reed; ‘Masters Of War’ by Pearl Jam founders Eddie Vedder and Mike McCready; ‘It Ain't Me Babe’ by June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash; ‘What Was It You Wanted?’ by Willie Nelson; ‘All Along The Watchtower’ by Neil Young; ‘Don't Think Twice, It's All Right’ by Eric Clapton; ‘Emotionally Yours’ by The O'Jays; ‘Absolutely Sweet Marie’ by George Harrison; ‘Rainy Day Women #12 & 35’ by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers; and many more. The man of honour closes out the concert with a four-song set, performing ‘It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)’ and ‘Girl From The North Country,’ and teaming up with the night's guests on ‘My Back Pages’ and ‘Knockin' On Heaven's Door.’
