Focus Hi Fi forays in live space with 'Just Music Festival'

MUMBAI: North-eastern entertainment channel Focus Hi Fi has introduced the first edition of 'Just Music Festival' which will take place in Shillong on 12 October. The one day event will witness performances from Parikrama, Lucid Recess, Plague throat and Boomarang; and there will be Lou Majaw's solo act.

The event that starts at 3 pm is more likely to conclude at 8 pm. Focus News marketing and events deputy vice president Nikhil Mathur said, "Shillong is the rock capital of India. People in that part of the country enjoy rock music more than any other genres." The venue for the event is Main Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the tickets are priced at Rs 250. Mathur added that 5,000 people are expected to attend the gig.

Currently, the company is promoting Just Music Festival on two radio stations (Itanagar and Agartala) of Radio Ooo La La and their television channel. "We are holding contest on both the medium and giving away free passes through various contest," said Mathur. The recorded event will be broadcast on both the medium. "We plan to take snippets and bytes of the artistes during the show, which will be run during various radio and television shows," he elaborated. The show will also be publicised through various outdoor campaigns.

Jindal Panther, Dalmia and radio Ooo La La are the three brands partnering for the event.

The group plans to expand to other regions in North East but that will be based on the responses they receive. Mathur said, "We are optimistic that we will have many more properties like this is the future."
