Seattle to Host Next Music Startup Academy on June 19

MUMBAI: Following up on the highly successful Music Biz Academy event at the Music Biz 2014 convention, the Music Business Association (Music Biz) is bringing its Music Startup Academy series back on the road with a stop in Seattle on June 19 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Microsoft headquarters. The educational sessions are aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs, startups, and students who dream of creating the next great music product, providing them with all the information they need to break through the barriers of entry and establish innovative, legal, and sustainable music companies.

The Seattle sessions will focus on three key areas: Label and Publishing Basics, Business Development, and Basic Technical Operations. Industry experts from companies such as Microsoft, MediaNet, and Hughes Media Law Group will be on hand to discuss these issues and lend their own personal advice from throughout their careers. During a keynote by startup Lively, representatives will highlight their experiences of starting a company in the music business and discuss their list of best practices for ensuring that your business succeeds.

Admission costs $59 for Music Biz members and $79 for non-members, with a special discounted fee of $39 for students.
