read moreMUMBAI: After witnessing major shifts in consumption resulting in mediocre sales, the global music industry has finally reported an increase of 0.3 per cent after a gap of 13 years, according to the annual digital music report by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). The industry states that its global sales rose last year for the first time since 1999, raising hopes that a long-sought recovery might have begun. It broke its jinx by posting trade revenue of $16.2 billion to $16.5bn from 2011 to 2012.
