Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to headline Orion fest

MUMBAI: Metallica has returned with the second edition of its festival, Orion Music + More to be held in June. This year’s line-up of artistes includes Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Deftones and Bassnectar amongst others.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Metallica will headline the two-day fest. The event will also feature acts like Gogol Bordello, Foals, Tomahawk, The Joy Formidable, Death Grips and local Detroit bands apart from the metal band itself. It will be held from 8-9 June in Detroit's Belle Isle.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said, “Last year's Orion Music + More festival was the highlight of the Metallica calendar. A great time was had by all, especially the band members. The fact that it also resonated with enough of our fans and friends that it warrants another go-around in 2013 is beyond exciting.”

The band is also teaming up with the San Francisco Giants for the first ever ‘Metallica Night’ at AT&T Park on 3 May. They will kick off the game with the National Anthem and first pitch.

Apart from that the group is also gearing up for the release of their 3D movie ‘Metallica through the Never’ on 9 August, and are also working on new material for an album as well.
