Udayswar@prithvi an acoustic concert of morning ragas presents Santoor by Rahul Sharma

MUMBAI: Udayswar@Prithvi is a rare and truly unique acoustic experience of Indian Classical Music to be enjoyed in its pure form, in the manner it was originally designed, for an intimate Baithak. The intimacy and excellent acoustics of Prithvi Theatre offers an unadulterated exchange of music between the artiste and the audience making it a refreshing and rejuvenating experience unlike any other in today's age of microphones and amplification.            

Morning ragas are the most soothing and they exude positivity and happiness. The interest and enthusiasm of music lovers and connoisseurs to attend morning concerts led Pancham Nishad and Prithvi Theatre both active in promoting and developing the performing arts to come together to present Udayswar@Prithvi, a concert series of morning ragas of the second prahar.  Held on every third Sunday of the month this concert series features various vocal and Instrumental artistes.

A renowned name in world music, Rahul Sharma is a musician par excellence and his renditions of classical and contemporary fusion has won him accolades world over. His melodies are divine and whenever he plays the Santoor, he weaves magic with the strings. Rahul Sharma, the son and disciple of the legendary Santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, is supposed to be the heir apparent to the rich musical legacy of his father and is considered today as a youth icon. 

He has carved a niche for himself in the World of Indian Classical and Fusion World Music, with over 60 released albums spanning a career of 20 years. This young artist has experimented with his Music and taken the 100 Stringed Santoor (Instrument which he plays) into various genres from Classical to New Age and World Fusion/electronica.
