ABCD to feature multi-genre music: Jigar

MUMBAI: Director-choreographer Remo D'Souza’s latest flick 'Any Body Can Dance' (ABCD) features tracks rendered by renowned singers from the music industry. Composed by Sachin-Jigar and penned by Mayur Puri, the soundtrack comprises of thirteen songs, nine of which feature in the movie. Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, one half of the composer duo Jigar said, “We have experimented with all the tracks unlike most of the bollywood songs. The film includes many genres of dance forms which need different genres of music, but we have given them a touch of Indian music as well.”

Gary Lawyer to release album after three years

MUMBAI: For the first time in his three-decade long career veteran rocker Gary Lawyer is working on an album from start to finish all by himself. From the songwriting stage to recording, the multi-tasking Lawyer will leave his stamp on his work-in-progress project. This will be the singer's seventh album, coming after a hiatus of three years. The album is slated to release in 2013.

UK music retailer HMV on the verge of bankruptcy

MUMBAI: British music and entertainment retailer HMV has announced that it has appointed administrators and suspended trading in its shares, signaling bankruptcy after failing to secure a reprieve from its lenders. HMV management confirmed today that it had failed to gain agreements with lenders and suppliers to continue trading. The company has appointed three partners of Deloitte LLP to administer the business.

Justin Timberlake returns with new single 'Suit and Tie'

Hugh Jackman wins musical best actor

MUMBAI: Australian actor Hugh Jackman won the Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy Sunday for his all-singing role in musical adaptation "Les Miserables." Jackman beat fellow nominees Jack Black in "Bernie," Bradley Cooper in "Silver Linings Playbook," Ewan McGregor in "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen" and Bill Murray in "Hyde Park on Hudson." In his acceptance speech, Jackman -- praised for his vocal skills in the movie -- revealed that he almost gave up the starring role of Jean Valjean only a few weeks before it started filming.
